These are the hands-on tasks that help your loved one get through the day safely and with dignity. Things like bathing, getting dressed, and moving around the home. If you already help with any of this, you may already be doing the job.
Keeping a home running takes real effort. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, and errands all count as part of the care your loved one needs. These tasks are covered under the program when authorized.
Some loved ones need more than everyday assistance. Specialized care tasks cover advanced support like bowel and bladder care, catheter hygiene, wound dressing changes, range of motion exercises, ostomy care, and skin care for individuals at risk of pressure injuries.
These tasks require additional training, which we provide and document through our agency. If your loved one needs this level of care, we will walk you through exactly what is involved and get you set up properly before you begin.
The state determines which tasks are authorized based on your loved one's care needs. We walk you through the whole process from start to first paycheck.
