Wound care is the most advanced complex care task approved under the MSA-1904. Trained family caregivers perform non-sterile dressing changes on chronic wounds following a clinician-prescribed protocol.
What This Includes
- Non-sterile dressing removal and replacement
- Wound site cleaning with prescribed solution
- Application of wound dressings per care plan instructions
- Wound measurement and appearance documentation
- Monitoring for signs of infection (redness, odor, drainage)
- Reporting changes to the overseeing nurse or physician
