Grooming

Grooming tasks are approved ADLs under the Home Help Program. Family caregivers can be paid to assist with brushing and combing hair, oral hygiene (brushing teeth, denture care), shaving, and basic nail care. Consistent grooming preserves self-esteem and prevents skin and dental complications.

What This Includes

  • Hair brushing, combing, and simple styling
  • Oral hygiene (brushing, rinsing, denture care)
  • Shaving (face or legs) with electric or manual razor
  • Fingernail and toenail filing (non-medical)
  • Eyebrow and facial hair tidying
  • Ear and nasal hygiene as tolerated
